We appreciate your willingness to sponsor a girl in Africa. This humanitarian gesture is highly commendable. The Charity for the “Education of Indigent Girls (EFIG) in Africa” co-ordinates this project. EFIG is entering its fourth year of operation and it is run exclusively for girls only between the ages of 4 – 16 (in certain special circumstances till 18+).
If you prefer to sponsor a boy we shall refer your request to another charity with that remit.
For as little as £10 a month (or more, up to £48 a month depending on age of child, and what you can comfortably afford), you will pay for the following needs of the child :
10. EFIG Enterprise & Employment Scheme: after EFIG educates girl we then pay for any special training (such as computer classes or nursing etc) to help them gain employment or funds to set them up in business.
11. University fees : for those bright enough to pass the necessary exams & for whom university education would lead to better employment (not always guarantee in certain west African countries with 70% graduate unemployment)
Accounts are strictly kept and all records legally required are filed annually with the UK Charities Commission.
